Understanding The Math Behind Pick & Play
The DNA Score measures the raw game environment. Our algorithm analyzes the opponent's defensive rating, pace of play, and positional weaknesses. We don't just look at the player; we look at the exact conditions they are stepping into.
Rec Rate (Recommendation Rate) is not just the player's historical win percentage. It is the exact percentage of times that our app's recommendations have successfully hit for that specific player, stat line, and odds type.
If you see a player with a 68% Rec Rate on a Goblin prop, it means that historically, when our algorithm generated a recommendation for that specific player on that specific Goblin line, it won 68% of the time. We blend this historical success rate directly into the DNA score to highlight the most reliable edges.
Why do only some of our props display sportsbook odds (like O -120 or U +110)?
We pull live, sharp sportsbook pricing directly from DraftKings. However, we only display those odds if DraftKings is offering the exact same line that PrizePicks is offering.
If you see odds attached to a card, it gives you a massive advantage because you can see exactly how the professional sportsbooks are pricing the edge. If a prop does not have odds listed, it simply means DraftKings is not currently offering that specific alternate line (which is very common for extreme Goblin or Demon props).
Ever bet an Under just because a player missed it 5 games in a row, only for them to drop 30 points against the worst defense in the league? That's a trap.
On our Main Recommendations Board, we show you everything—including these traps. You might see a "Lean Under" accompanied by a massive +5.00 DNA Score. We leave this raw data completely unfiltered so sharp bettors can spot conflicting data and know exactly what spots to avoid.
However, if you use our Lineup Generator, it runs those props through our Alignment Bouncer. The generator actively throws traps in the trash, ensuring that it only builds slips where the player's trend and the game environment are perfectly aligned.
Sportsbooks like PrizePicks offer alternate lines. Understanding the math behind these is critical to being a profitable bettor.
The normal sportsbook line. You need to win roughly 54.2% of the time to break even long term.
Discounted, easier lines (e.g., 15.5 pts instead of 19.5). Because payouts are lower, you need a massive 66%+ win rate to profit. Use these as safe anchors.
Harder lines with massive payout boosts. Because the payouts are huge, a win rate of just 30% to 35% is incredibly profitable. High risk, extreme reward.
Taking recommendations is only half the battle. How you combine them into a slip dictates your long-term profitability. Keep these core strategies in mind:
